A Brother’s Journey: Freestyle’s Heartfelt Transition
Freestyle Welcomes New Drummer as Lerod Continues International Tour
Hi everyone!
We want to share with you one significant change in us as we feel it’s only right that we celebrate our family and team.
For the last two years, our brother and drummer, Lerod, has been touring internationally every weekend as the drummer of the biggest Cantopop artist in the world; a tour that was shelved indefinitely during the pandemic but has since resumed in June of 2023.
Since then, another brother of ours, Gibson Viduya, has been filling in for Lerod for all shows towards the weekends. This system was to be so until Lerod’s tour is finished.
However, as the immensely successful international tour Lerod is a part of is stretching indefinitely today, the call for Lerod to continue fulfilling his duties overseas has rendered juggling his two commitments more challenging for him to manage.
Thus, Lerod had to regrettably make a sacrifice that all of us regret but understand fully well.
Inevitably, Lerod will have to continue his duties to his prior commitment exclusively and we, his Freestyle family, will forge onwards while cheering him on! After all, he is one of the best musical talents our country has produced and the international stage calls him to continue and shine from one sold out stadium concert to the next! So who are we to keep him? He deserves to continue onwards and live the dream every musician has!
Now, our other brother, Gibson, who has been beautifully filling in for Lerod in his absence, is the only one in our mind and heart who we feel want to take over officially for Lerod. With Lerod’s loving blessing and gratitude, Gibson has accepted our invitation to join us on this humble, music-loving train we call Freestyle, as we continue onwards to create and share new songs and perform for all of you every chance we get.
We cheer our brother, Lerod, on and wish him all the best as he continues his beautiful journey as one of the best international musicians ever to come from our homeland, and we will continue our support for him, wherever in the world his journey’s adventures take him.
For now, and onwards, we are so happy, humbled, honored and blessed to have not just another one of the best drummers in the land but, more importantly, another dear brother, joining us as Freestyle’s official drummer.
Through all this, we all remain a loving family, supporting each other every step of the way, come what may.
